01 — Initial Consultation & Feasibility
Understand what the client wants to achieve, look at the site and existing information, identify obvious constraints and establish the likely design and consent pathway.
02 — Concept Design
Turn the client's ideas into workable floor plans and elevations. Explore layout, orientation, form, access and relationship to the site. This is where 3D imagery can help the client actually see the proposed design.
03 — Design Development
Once the preferred concept is selected, progressively refine it. Develop the plans, elevations and sections, resolve levels, materials and construction considerations, and coordinate required engineering or specialist input.
04 — Detailed Design & Consent Documentation
Develop the design into a coordinated set of technical drawings and supporting documentation suitable for Building Consent. This is where the concept becomes a properly resolved building design rather than simply a set of preliminary drawings.
05 — Building Consent Lodgement
Complete the consent documentation, coordinate the required supporting information and lodge the application with Council. Where agreed, assist with responses to Council queries or Requests for Further Information during processing.
From your ideas to building consent
Every project is different, but the design process follows a logical progression. We start by understanding what you want to achieve, then develop and refine the design through to a coordinated set of drawings ready for Building Consent.
You remain involved at each key stage, with the opportunity to review the design and make decisions before moving forward. By developing the project progressively—and using 3D visualisation where useful—we aim to make the design easier to understand, refine potential problems early and provide a clear pathway from the initial idea through to consent lodgement.
